Kinross – 10 mm Tarmac Driveway with Granite-Grey Block Borders
This Kinross driveway was excavated and resurfaced following removal of the existing block-paved driveway. Granite-grey block-paved borders and key kerb edgings were fitted, and the driveway was finished using heavy-duty 10 mm hot tarmacadam. The completed photograph shows the black tarmac curving around the garden, with a contrasting paved band across the entrance. The project combines driveway replacement with decorative edging at a private home in Perth and Kinross, Scotland.

The work carried out
Excavation of the existing driveway
The existing block-paved driveway was excavated as part of the replacement scheme. This was a change of driveway construction and finish, rather than simply laying tarmac over the visible paving.
Granite-grey borders and key kerbs
Block-paved borders and key kerb edgings in a granite-grey colour define the new driveway. The curved border follows the garden edge, while the wider paved entrance band gives a clear transition into the tarmac.
Heavy-duty 10 mm hot tarmacadam
Heavy-duty 10 mm hot tarmacadam was used for the resurfacing. The new surface runs towards the house and garage, with the lighter border setting out the edges of the private access and parking area.
