New and replacement tarmac driveways
We provide driveway surfacing for private homes, shared entrances, turning areas and longer property access roads. The proposal covers the required excavation, base, levels, edges and finished asphalt.
Tell us how the driveway is used, how many vehicles need space and whether vans, caravans or larger vehicles will use it. We also consider gates, entrances, drainage and adjoining paths.
Driveway resurfacing and local repairs
An existing driveway may be suitable for resurfacing, local patching or a more complete replacement. We inspect the base, damaged areas, levels and drainage before recommending the scope.
Potholes, failed patches and reinstatement after service work can be assessed as separate repairs. Photographs of the whole driveway and close-ups of the damage are useful for an initial enquiry.
Laying methods and block-paved borders
We use machine laying or hand laying to suit the driveway and equipment access. Larger accessible sections and confined areas can be planned together as one project.
Optional block-paved borders can frame a tarmac driveway. We agree the layout, colour, bedding and edge restraints before work begins.
Longer private drives and rural properties
For longer drives and rural access roads, we can also assess tar & chip surface dressing alongside tarmac. The base, traffic, desired finish and required preparation inform the choice.
Send your postcode, measurements and photos. We cover Fife, Perth, Ayrshire, Argyll & Bute, Fort William and Oban, including surrounding towns and villages. Suitable projects elsewhere are considered by arrangement.
How we approach the work
- Survey levels, access, drainage and the existing base.
- Excavate and remove unsuitable material where required.
- Install and compact the specified sub-base and drainage.
- Set any agreed block-paved border on the specified concrete bed and restraint.
- Lay the specified asphalt layers, compact and finish the edges.
- Check the finish and explain initial use and aftercare.
Asphalt type and thickness are selected for the proposed traffic and base conditions. Every driveway needs an appropriate specification.

Your questions
Can you resurface over my old driveway?
Sometimes. We first check its stability, drainage, levels and available height at doors, gates and adjoining surfaces.
Where do you undertake driveway work?
We cover Fife, Perth, Ayrshire, Argyll & Bute, Fort William and Oban, including surrounding towns and villages. Examples include Dunfermline, Kirkcaldy, Perth, Ayr, Kilmarnock, Lochgilphead, Dunoon, Fort William and Oban. We also consider suitable projects elsewhere by arrangement; please send your postcode.
Can you add block-paved borders to a tarmac driveway?
Yes. We can include a contrasting block-paved border with your tarmac driveway. The layout, colour, concrete bedding and edge restraints are agreed in the quotation.
Do you use machine laying or hand laying for driveways?
We choose the laying method around the driveway dimensions and equipment access. A paver may suit larger accessible areas, while hand laying may suit confined sections, edges and smaller spaces. Preparation and compaction are specified for the whole driveway.
Can you repair my driveway rather than replace it?
Yes, where a local repair is appropriate. Send photographs of the potholes, edges or damaged area so we can discuss an inspection and the options for patching, resurfacing or replacement.
