Six-Metre Farm Road – Adjustable-Width Double-Coat Surface Dressing
This private farm-road project involved a six-metre-wide road and a further one-metre application strip within that width. The machinery was adjusted down to a one-metre working width to complete that part of the surface-dressing treatment. The specified finish was a double coat of premium-grade polymer-modified bitumen and chippings. The close photograph shows the stone being spread at the edge of the working pass. UK Roadworks Group provides hot tar and chip for farm roads, agricultural access, steadings and estate routes, with working width and equipment planned around each site. Send the farm location, dimensions and access details to discuss a similar treatment.

During the work
The work carried out
Six-metre farm-road width
The private farm road was six metres wide. For a similar project, we measure the length and width and identify sections requiring preparation before agreeing the treatment area.
One-metre application strip
The equipment was adjusted to a one-metre working width to treat the remaining strip as part of the full road width. The adjustable setting allowed that strip to be treated as part of the full-width scheme.
Double-coat polymer-modified treatment
The specified treatment used two coats of premium-grade polymer-modified bitumen and chippings. Material selection and preparation for another road are confirmed after assessment.
Agricultural access planning
Tell us about tractors, trailers, delivery lorries, gates and turning areas, as well as drainage and damaged edges. The quotation can include agreed repairs and preparation alongside the final surface dressing.
