Tayside – K180 Polymer-Modified Bitumen & Granite Surface Dressing

This Tayside surface-dressing photograph shows granite chippings being distributed directly over freshly applied bituminous binder. The treatment uses K180 polymer-modified bitumen with triple-washed granite roadstone chippings, as specified for this work. The close view makes the two parts of hot tar and chip easy to see: the dark binder underneath and the stone being laid over it. The work carried out

  1. K180 polymer-modified binder

    K180 polymer-modified bitumen is the binder specified for the photographed Tayside work. The binder product and treatment are set out in the quotation for each new project.

  2. Triple-washed granite roadstone

    The selected granite chippings are spread over the binder. Aggregate size, colour and the number of applications are agreed for the existing surface and proposed use.

  3. Preparation and working access

    For your Tayside site, tell us about potholes, weak edges, drainage, gates and traffic that must retain access. Required repairs and preparation are identified before the dressing is applied.

  4. Highways, farms and rural properties

    We can discuss contractor-led highway packages as well as private farm and rural-property work. Provide the site specification and any required traffic-management arrangements when requesting a quotation.
