Scottish Borders – Kwik Fit Tyre Centre Tarmac Repairs
Tarmac repairs and local resurfacing at a Kwik Fit tyre centre in the Scottish Borders. Aged, crumbling areas were planed out, a bitumen tack coat was applied, and replacement tarmac was machine laid and hand laid. All joints were sealed with hot rubberised bitumen.

The work carried out
Plane out the failed surface
Sections of the old, aged and crumbling tarmac were planed out to prepare the areas for repair.
Apply a bitumen tack coat
A bitumen tack coat was applied to bond the prepared existing surface to the replacement tarmac.
Machine-lay and hand-lay the repairs
The prepared sections were patched and resurfaced using machine-laid and hand-laid tarmac.
Seal every joint
All joints were sealed with a hot rubberised bitumen sealing agent.
