New driveways and resurfacing existing tarmac
A sound finish starts below the surface. We look at the condition of the base, the available depth at thresholds and the way water leaves the drive. A worn surface over a stable construction may suit resurfacing; sinking areas, repeated cracks or soft ground can require removal and rebuilding first.
Machine laying is considered where the layout and access allow it, with hand laying for smaller or restricted sections. The quotation identifies the agreed construction and materials for the vehicles using your driveway, rather than assuming that every property needs the same build-up.
Driveway entrances, edges and parking areas
Tell us if you want to widen the usable parking area, improve the entrance or include block-paved borders. Edging, kerbs, covers, door thresholds and existing paths need to work together at the finished level. We discuss the detail and include the agreed items in the written scope.
On shared drives, please identify the person arranging the work and any access that neighbours need to retain. We agree vehicle parking, deliveries and access during the work before confirming the programme.
Repair a local defect or resurface the whole driveway?
A pothole or broken edge does not always mean replacing the whole drive. Where the surrounding construction is sound, a properly prepared local patch may be appropriate. Where failure is widespread, we explain the preparation needed for a larger resurfacing or reconstruction proposal.
New asphalt can differ in colour from older weathered surfacing. Send an overall photograph and close-ups of cracks, sinking areas and standing water so we can discuss a realistic scope and finish.

Your questions
Can you quote for a driveway in Ayr, Troon or Kilmarnock?
Yes. Send your postcode, dimensions and photographs. We discuss whether a survey is needed and provide a written quotation for the agreed work.
Can new tarmac go straight over my existing drive?
Sometimes, but only after checking the construction, levels, drainage and condition of the existing surface. Weak or failed areas need preparation, and some drives require removal and rebuilding.
When can I park on the new surface?
Opening to vehicles depends on the material, weather and site conditions. We explain the arrangements and aftercare for your driveway before handover.
